Update Memorial Service: R.I.P. Squingy from Bass Odyssey

Kevin ‘Squingy’ Bennett has left an indelible impression on music and in our hearts. He used his GOD-given abilities to entertain us and inspire us all to reach higher heights; hence, the boy from country became the man who conquered the world.
On behalf of The Bass Odyssey Family, Kevin’s immediate family and the entire Poisondart Sound family, we extend our sincerest appreciation to everyone for all your prayers, condolences, and financial contributions. We know you will find solace in your memories of ‘Squingy’.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 28. It will be held at Harmon’s Funeral Home: 5002 N. 40th Street, Tampa, Fl. Kevin’s body will be shipped to Jamaica, WI immediately following the service.
The family has asked that everyone respect their privacy at this time. Please
contact Kirky-C for information regarding the memorial service. More information on Kevin’s home-going in Jamaica will be published once the plans are finalized.

Kevin “Squingy Bennett, MC and selector history of sound system Bass Odyssey, died Tuesday morning in Florida at the age of 37 years.

Squingy had fans worldwide , and was known for his world famous clashes , squingy has been living with cancer for more than three years.

RIP Squingy!! At the same time there is a lesson to be taught from his passing.
We al know seh Squingy was battling AIDS for the last couple of years. Why is this subject such
a taboo and everyone refuses to talk about it? How many women has Squingy had
relations with while touring, and playing all over the world. do these women
know? have they gotten tested? how can we prevent the spread of this deadly
disease if everyone gwaan like seh dem fraid fi seh di word. Black people we

RIP, kevin bennett, aka, volture from ferncourt high days to “SQUINGY” on the big bad BASS ODESSEY. I know jamaican people are wicked and chat nuff but me know him from high school till his passing and not all but a good number of people knew he had the package “AIDS ” that is.Real talk we a all big people, man fi have woman yes, one or more if he can afford to but buy some magnum rubbers or trojan but have sex with precaution. gal fi get wood yes but all if a “head-job” me a get me a use rubbers to, get real folks and get protected,times are serious now and have changed since our grandparents days, love bass odessey str8, country all the way. as a sound system and one that stands for family and community they need to launch a campaign and address this issue, doing so will send them into the stratosphere
