Ky mani Marley Kymani Marley gets in a feud with Cleveland DJ

One of the sons of late reggae star Bob Marley was detained this morning after having a heated argument with WMMS FM/100.7 DJ Rover.

Ky-Mani Marley is in Cleveland promoting his book about his famous father.

During the interview, Rover, 30, made a sexual comment about Marley’s mother, who was a pingpong champion.

Marley was angered by the comment. He left the studio and apparently turned the radio on in his car. Rover was still talking about him.

Marley returned to the station and barged into the studio. A heated, profane argument ensued, with Marley threatening to assault Rover. Much of the profanity was kept off the air using the station’s delay system.

Police were called and detained Marley for about 45 minutes. Rover, whose real name is Shane French, declined to press charges and Marley was released.

I was so upset/ashamed of someone doing this to him…being from Cleveland that made the city look bad. His father is a International Icon and to treat his son like that was awful. I know why Ky-Mani didn’t give it to him like he would have wanted, because his purpose of coming here to my hometown was bigger than that asshole of dj(Rover). He’s tryin to do bigger and better things. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Marley he is so humble. Maybe back in the day the outcome would have been different, but he’s a GROWN MAN now, and he handle his self as such. What happened to him that day us Clevelander(fans) will make sure that the Disc Jockey will get what’s coming to him..He should be fired!!!! The DJ probably had a planned to bring the evil out of him. Testing to see where Ky mind was at. Everyone knows it’s highly disrespectful to talk about anyone family (Especially On The Radio). I know it, u know it and of course the DJ knows it. Also what bring intrest to others? DRAMA!! So of course just like a jackass Faggot DJ Roover tested the man. Only weak people talks about one when one is gone. So from the DJ actions you can tell he is an immature child. I respect Ky for confronting the guy, even though he was promoting. So why get arrested for trying to make money? It’s not worth it and Ky knew it, so he tried and scared dude. The world is full of evil and evil wants to bring you to there level. I pray next time he gets a better understanding of the situation and think it out a little more. For those of you who are arguing and have no idea what was said. I was listening live that day and can paraphrase what happened. Rover is a jokester and when Marley mentioned his mother was a ping pong champion he simply said that the fact that his mother was good with balls is what his father was attracted too. It was an immature joke and not in any way said with spite. The interview continued, it wasn’t until after the interview that Marley came back into the studio and began threatening Rover. Marley needs to grow up.

The arguement went beyond talking about balls. Once Ky left the studio, the other people on Rover starting talking smack about him. Saying he was a pussy, had a huge head, was a wanna be, was fake, etc. Ky was very restrained during the interview, he was pissed, that was obvious, but Rover and gang were way rude once Ky left the studio. Of course this is very common for Rover’s crew…so no one should be surprised.
