Prominent American businessman, Corey Todd will head back to court November 16th as he will stand trial in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court to answer a charge of assault stemming from an incident on August 3rd inside Club Riddim.
The plaintiff in the case, Stone Love selector, Dwayne “Bill Cosby” Burke accused Todd of using a box of CDs to assault him after he played a Vybz Kartel song that allegedly dissed Todd during the event, Swag Tuesdays at Club Riddim. Burke claims that Todd, who owns Club Riddim, approached him after playing a series of Vybz Kartel songs, including the diss song aimed at the American entrepreneur.
Todd initially threw a cup on Cosby before dropping a banner on his head. When both attempts to stop the selector from playing the songs failed, Todd then allegedly approached him with a box of CDs; throwing them on Cosby & causing his hand to swell. Burke then reported the matter & Todd was summoned to court last week to answer a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm. On the contrary, Todd’s attorney, Everton Dewar claimed that Todd is innocent of the charge; intimated that his client threw the box at the artiste but it bounced on the turn table and did not hit Burke.
