Internationally-acclaimed Dancehall superstar, Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer will have to wait a few more days until he’s required to answer his most recent murder charge.
Kartel’s second murder case, regarding the killing of a St. Andrew man this past August, was stood down in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning given that the co-accused in the case was not in attendance.
Presiding Resident Magistrate, Georgianna Fraser postponed the case until Kartel’s designer/booking agent, Calvin “Moonie” Haye was brought before the courts by law enforcement officials. Haye appeared in the courtroom shortly thereafter, but RM Fraser decided to put of the case until Thursday November 3.
Haye, 23, was charged with murder in relation to the killing of Clive “Lizard” Williams in Havendale, St. Andrew. According to reports, it’s alleged that Haye, along with Kartel and Kiro “Ray” Jones, killed Williams following a dispute over a missing, illegal firearm. Additionally, Kartel’s mentor and Portmore Empire singjay, Shawn Storm, could jointly be charged for murder with the case as well as several other persons.
Kartel is due in court later this week as he faces charges of murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting death of Barrington “Bossie” Burton, a businessman/promoter from Gregory Park, St. Catherine. He’s also scheduled for a November 11th court appearance to face ganja possession charge stemming from his initial arrest on September 29at a New Kingston hotel.
