Legal problems continue to mount for Jamaican YouTube sensation, Clifton ‘Cliff-Twang’ Brown as the one-time deejay now faces a lawsuit claiming he bounced several cheques at a gas station last year.

The allegations stem from instances where Brown allegedly issued three bounced cheques to a Corporate Area gas station for gas, amongst other items. The St. Thomas native was told he had insufficient funds in his account after sending said cheques. The lawsuit was reportedly filed in the Sutton Street Resident Magistrates Court after Brown failed to pay the money owed once notified of the issue and now is being sued for JA$56,000.

He faces a Valentine’s Day (February 14) court hearing in the matter.

This is the second time in just over a week a legal issue involving Cliff-Twang has been publicized. Last week Tuesday it was reported that he was jailed in December for failing to pay child maintenance after turning down a bail offer of JA$80,000.

Brown repeatedly appeared in Kingston’s Family Court after his baby’s mother accused him of being behind in child support payments. He finally received bail this past Thursday and will re-appear in the Family Court next month in that case.

After a remix of a Prime Time News video appeared on YouTube in the summer of 2011, Brown rose to prominence for his ‘twanging’ and popular catch phrase, ‘Nobody Canna Cross It,’ when describing flooding at the Mavis Bank Bridge in his native parish. The DJ Powa produced video copped millions of views and made several television appearances and scored an endorsement deal with local telecommunications giant, LIME for his efforts.
