Fella is set to release the aptly titled DJ Fella Remix Project Mixtape as he aims to broaden his range in 2013. Known for making remixes combining the best elements of various genres, DJ Fella’s new mixtape features remakes of 46 tracks from varying genres, including Dancehall, hip-hop and R&B.
Several twists and turns await listeners on the DJ Fella Remix Project Mixtape as he remakes flashback favorites such as Lil Wayne and Bobby Valentino’s Mrs. Officer and Christopher Martin using techno-like instrumentals while doing Dancehall versions of more recent favorites like Out of My Head (Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz) and Tyga’s Rack City.
Many other tracks are mixed in the musical blender as music fans get a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear songs like One By One (Laza Morgan and Mavado) done on a more soothing, R&B beat, to Beyonce’s Summer Time being heard on the famous Summer Time Riddim beat which Dancehall’s elite such as Vybz Kartel and Popcaan helped bring to worldwide popularity
Other hits like Chan Dizzy’s Hello Badmind and Ne-Yo’s So Sick take you back in time to the 1990s while Fella reaches for the 1960s classic I Want You Back by the legendary Jackson Five as he gives it a 21st century makeover. Fans can also enjoy interesting remakes of chart-toppers like Let It Burn (Usher), Settle Down (Mavado) and Wiz Khalifa’s Black and Yellow while Nicki Minaj takes us across the universe in Starships, soca style and Psy shows us a new way to groove to Gangnam Style.
