Clarendon event to ‘C.O.V.E.R’ all bases of live music

1360733203_8288_154856_419760681437632_1805154968_nAiming to capitalize on the recent upturn of unplugged stage shows and live bands, The C.O.V.E.R Music Project is set to promote a monthly event aimed at showcasing Clarendon’s top talent in an intimate setting music lovers will thoroughly enjoy.

Promoters, Efficacy-Entertainment is set to unveil the first installment of The C.O.V.E.R Music Project, an initiative aimed at reviving live music in Clarendon with an intimate setting giving fans a chance to get up close with emerging and established talents from the southwestern parish. With Clarendon hailing as one of Jamaican music’s most storied breeding grounds, the Clarendon Original Vibrant Entertainment Renaissance (C.O.V.E.R) Music Project seeks to eradicate the issues of big crowds and limited fan interaction. These events are tailored towards making the sounds and lyrics on offer as the focal points of each performance, more so than the accompanying hysteria.

The debut of C.O.V.E.R will take place on March 2 at the Kansas City Entertainment Complex in Swansea, Clarendon. The event will feature fast-rising Reggae sensation, Spechinal, who came to mainstream prominence in 2012 with efforts like Natural Girl, Cuss Me and True Love, for which accompanying videos garnered strong rotation across local television stations, including HYPE TV and RETV. The monthly series will repeat every last Saturday in each month.

Other performers set to take the stage include Kosmik Consciousnez, known for his conscious lyrics and intellect through effort such as Better Off and When It Offers as well as Saggie-T, whose Hand Cart Man single and accompanying video have also earned him significant mainstream love. Also, artistes such as Jah Bari, TMoi, Third Gear, Dmedz, Dezi, Teesha, Ras Akkurate, Mosiah and a host of others who promise to offer rousing sets full of soul and energy sure to capture the hearts and minds of patrons. The featured backing band will be the Upliftment Band another Clarendon music product.

A made for television production video (RAS-TV) will not only capture C.O.V.E.R Music’s inaugural event, but will also take an in-depth look into the triumphs and trials these artistes have gone through on their musical journey. The TV series of the same title will be aired locally and internationally.

Perrone Thomas, Publicist & promotional team member of this event states; “A key effort is being made to involve a large contingent of Clarendon’s music industry players. Musicians, Videographers, Event Planners, Lighting & Production companies are some areas were we have made a concerted effort to utilize local Clarendon based companies and suppliers.”

“We are actively seeking a major sponsor for this even, as we are committed to the success of this series which will run monthly, the last Saturday in each month.”

Tickets are only JA$599 and the show kicks off at 8:30 p.m. This event is sure to ‘C.O.V.E.R’ new ground throughout Clarendon’s music scene and Jamaican music in general.
