Kenny Allstar is a 20-year-old DJ and Radio Host hailing from South London.
Kenny hosts Dancehall Nation on London’s Reprezent Radio every Friday from 7-9pm.
Kenny first began his disc jockeying journey at the tender age of 8, learning the tricks and trades to DJing with a pair of old 7″ Technics Vinyl decks, and his hosting and mixing styles have been influenced by the likes of the legendary Tim Westwood, DJ Cameo and Logan Sama. Kenny started his broadcasting journey pioneering the weekend breakfast show on the legendary DeJaVu FM, mixing dancehall, hip-hop and commercial music seamlessly with technique beyond his years.
After several guest mixes on BBC Radio 1Xtra - appearing on the shows of Tim Westwood, Cameo and Robbo Ranx - his ‘Xtra Talent‘ sets on the station caught the ears of Reprezent Radio (107.3FM London), who asked Kenny to front their Dancehall show from October 2013. Guests so far have included Stylo G, who stopped by the show in its second week.
As a proud South Londoner, Kenny also works with some of the area’s best hip-hop artists, including a role as the official tour DJ of Cashtastic and a mixtape host for Fekky. Live appearances have also seen Kenny support US star French Montana and Professor Green (each with Cashtastic), while himself headlining the Biggafish float at the 2012 Notting Hill Carnival. 2013 also saw Kenny complete a 14-date October Freshers’ tour across the UK.
Kenny’s effort goes beyond the regular club night or concert, with his constant production of mixtapes (with guest hosts includingStylo G and Tarrus Riley) gaining him nationwide recognition: dancehall mixtape ‘Back2Basics Volume 2′ attracted 17,000 downloads, and ‘Best Of Cashtastic Volume 1′ generated 10,000+ downloads nationwide. Other successful mixtape campaigns include ‘Grime Files Volume 1′, featuring the best in grime music including exclusive tracks from the likes of Big H, Nasty Crew and Wiley.
