OMIJamaican singing sensation, OMI has again gone platinum with his Billboard-topping smash hit, Cheerleader after being certified double platinum in the United Kingdom.

The song, which was originally released in 2012, was remixed by German producer, Felix Jaehn in 2014 and had previously been certified platinum in Sweden and the United States, where his song became a fixture on the charts and airwaves this past summer. The song has also topped the charts in 20 countries, including the U.S and U.K., Germany, Australia and France.

This double platinum certification by the British Recorded Music Industry (BPI) means OMI has sold over a million copies of the record across the U.K.

In a Twitter post, in which he posted a picture of himself with the double platinum plaque, OMI said “2X PLATINUM in the UK! Thank YOU for making this possible. #Cheerleader #OMIarmy,”

The song is also up for Song of the Year at this Thursday’s BBC Music Awards – where he’ll also be performing – but was snubbed by the Grammy Awards despite topping the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks during the summer.
