Devin Di Dakta faces September court date in indecent assault case

Devin Di DaktaDancehall star, Devin Di Dakta is set to stand trial on September 5 as he faces a count of sexual assault in connection with an alleged incident a Taboo Night Club in January.

The entertainer, whose real name is Anthony Escoffery Clarke, appeared at the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court last week, where he plead not guilty to the charge and subsequently was given a bail extension.

It is alleged that Devin inappropriately touched a female dancer at the club when he visited there January 19th.

The owner of Taboo, Corey Todd faces charges of malicious destruction of property and assault occasioning bodily harm after he and his security detail allegedly had Devin kicked out and beaten in the parking lot of the club. Devin’s manager, Shelly-Ann Curran later claimed Todd told her that the reason for the beating was over a diss track the Rrri Bam Bi Deng Deng made addressing dancehall artiste, Masicka, who is Todd’s client.

Todd plead not guilty to the charge last month and is out on bail.
