As Jamaican singer, OMI continues his stronghold at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts , the artist earned another significant marker in his career, performing alongside seven-time Grammy-winning singer, Taylor Swift over the weekend.
OMI made an appearance at the California leg of Swift’s 1989 tour in San Diego, performing to a crowd of 50,000 fans at PETCO Park. The tour also includes high-profile acts such as John Legend, Mary J. Blige, Justin Timberlake and more.
Rocking his signature sunglasses and hat, OMI performed his hit single, Cheerleader alongside Swift to strong approval from the audience, who sang along throughout his set. You can watch a snippet of the performancehere.
Following the performance, the two stars tweeted to each other, with Taylor Swift saying, “Thank you @omimusiconline for singing Cheerleader tonight in San Diego!! You’re amazing’: #1989toursandiego,” while OMI replied: “@taylorswift13 it was amazing singing with you tonight! Thanks again for inviting me 🙂 #1989TourSanDiego.”
OMI has been riding the waves of his Cheerleader single, which has arguably been the hit of the summer. TheFelix Jaehn produced remix of the song has now topped the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks.
