Da’Ville arrested after allegedly assaulting his wife

DaVilleInternationally-acclaimed Jamaican singer, Da’Ville has been released from jail after allegedly hitting his wife in the face during a domestic dispute.

The 35-year old entertainer was arrested Thursday at his home in Valley Stream, NY after police were called to the scene following the alleged incident. He attended a hearing at the Nassau County Court Friday morning and is scheduled to return to court June 24th.

Da’Ville savors selection for Grammy Award shortlist

Internationally-renowned Jamaican entertainer, Da’Ville is basking in musical glory once more as he cherishes being selected on a provisional list for music’s highest honor.

On November 11, the Reggae/Pop superstar was named as one of 50 artistes on a shortlist for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. Da’Ville’s third studio album, Krazy Love was deemed worth of mention for the award, culminating what has been a successful return to the spotlight for the smooth-sounding entertainer.

According to the Fashozy Records recording artistehe is humbled by the Recording Academy’s consideration of his album as it shows that his years of hard work have finally paid off in a big way.

It’s definitely a great feeling, it shows that my music and work is being recognized and for that I give thanks” he said.

After taking a break from the industry to recharge his batteries, Da’Ville released Krazy Love in July, to rave reviews locally and internationally. Passionate efforts like Woman, Took a Break andThis Love reminded fans and industry players of the talent and diversity Da’Ville possesses, helping Krazy Love to chart in Jamaica, the United States, Europe and Africa.

For Da’Ville, this Grammy nomination just adds fuel to the fire.

“Sometimes this business make you wanna give up but I’ve always been a motivated individual so this news certainly adds to motivating me a little more,” he said.

Da’Ville’s Krazy Love will square off against efforts fromBusy Signal (Reggae Music Again), Konshens (Mental Maintenance), Vybz Kartel (Pon Di Gaza Mi Sey), Sean Paul (Tomahawk Technique), Mr. Vegas (Sweet Jamaica) and fellow stalwarts who will contest for the final five or six nominations list, to be announced on December 5 in Los Angeles.

Though competition is stiff, Da’Ville believes he has a great chance at taking home the Best Reggae Album Grammy. What would it mean for Da’Ville to take home music’s greatest accolade?

“Honestly, I mean…after putting my life work, time, effort and commitment into my music, to me that would be like a prize fighter winning the coveted world title,” he said “.It would say a lot about the work and talent that I have. People would have to take notice at some point don’t it? I wouldn’t trade that for anything else. It’s a life time experience.”

Though his aspirations are great, Da’Ville won’t allow success to get to his head. The prominent entertainer continues to tour and promote Krazy Love. He’s also expanded his strong catalogue of hits, with joint efforts alongside Bunji Garlin (Touch You) and Charly Black (Never Let You Go) as well as the Inna Mi House Music-produced track, Come Mek We Touch.

“There’s so much going on and so much more to do,” Da’Ville said. “I can never stop making music so always stay tuned to new and exciting things from me.”
