1st Quarters Riddim shows is game for success in Dancehall

Internationally acclaimed Dancehall/Reggae producer, Tony ‘CD’ Kelly has proven his sharp eye for quality and talent once more with the release of his newest compilation, the 1st Quarters Riddim.

Known for being instrumental in propelling the international careers of artistes such as Sean Paul, Patra, Shaggy and Beenie Man to name a few, Kelly has released a new Dancehall Riddim combining the exploits of established and upcoming acts. The Grammy-winning producer, known for launching pad projects such as The Unda Wata Riddimand Buy Out Riddim looks to score similar success as he features several acts affiliated with his label, K..Licious Music Group.

K..Licious recruit, Malica Martin stamps her authority on the Riddim with two singles that have already resonated well with Dancehall admirers. In particular, Malica’s sensual collaboration with Dancehall icon, Beenie Man entitled Reminisce has garnered strong notice and positive acclaim as her singing exploits are introduced to the mainstream. Additionally, Malica showcases her prospects as a solo artiste with her sultry single, Best He Ever Had which has earned the Florida based singer encouraging feedback.

Other members of Tony Kelly’s label have also given strong accounts of themselves on the 1st Quarters Riddim such as prominent dancer turned deejay, Mystic with her sumptuous single, You & I in which she also shows off some singing prowess. Furthermore, young singjay, Dre Zee displays his hybrid skills in Good Girl Gone Bad while Italis shows his hunger for success with Money.

Not to be outdone, several renowned artistes grace the 1st Quarters Riddim with their own musical personalities as diamond-selling Dancehall/Reggae singjay, Shaggy collaborates with newcomer, Shaki on the song, Anything whilehighly acclaimed songstress, Denyque delivers on Kelly’s production with All About Us. The compilation also features contributions from veteran deejay, General Degree, Future Fambo and newcomer, Notch.

1st Quarters continues a strong return to the spotlight for Kelly, who’s produced hits since the turn of the decade such as For You Eyes Only (Shaggy featuring Alaine) and the Winners Riddim.

The 1st Quarters Riddim is currently available for download online and a mix of all the songs from the compilation are available on YouTube.

Mystic aims to create more magic in 2012

Prominent Jamaican dancer and emerging artiste, Mystic Davis hopes to continue her magical run within the local and international entertainment scene.

The daughter of veteran Reggae star, Joy White, Mystic has established her own legacy as an all-rounded performance artiste. She’s already starred in several music videos for internationally-acclaimed artistes such as Gnarls Barkley (Going On), Miike Snow (The Rabbit), Sean Kingston & Nicki Minaj (Dutty Love) as well as Vybz Kartel (Go Go Wine) to name a few.. Additionally, she’s performed during on stage performances from international figures such as hip-hop superstar, Ludacris, Ruff Ryders first lady, Eve and even taught World Record holding/Olympic Gold medal winning sprinter, Usain Bolt a few dance moves.

In addition to her music video resume, the Portland native stamped her authority as a deejay in 2010; starring alongside prominent veteran deejay, Macka Diamond as well as top-draw disc jock, ZJ Sparks, amongst othersfor the female empowerment anthem, Too Much Bull. However, it was when Mystic joined forces with Dancehall singjay, Leftside for the pulsating remix of their chart-topping collaborative single, Want Yuh Body.

The remix made her a reputable force as an artiste; showing lyrical dexterity that few young artistes consistently display.

Already in 2012, Mystic featured on the third edition of the highly regarded Shaggy and Friends charity event and won her third consecutive Youth View award for Best Female Dancer earlier this month; adding to previous accolades, including the HYPETV Award for Best Female Dancer. Currently, she’s nominated in the Female Dancer of the Year category for the 3rd annual Carivibez Video Web Awards.

Additionally, flexibility and visibility showcased on a regular basis through her dancing exploits, plus sultry looks to match copped Mystic a top 10 spot on a recent list of the Jamaican Music Industry’s Sexiest Female Personalities, co-compiled by DancehallUSA.com and Examiner.com. The popular entertainer also continues to build her name overseas as she recently travelled to South America.

Musically, Mystic is now a part of legendary, Grammy-winning producer, Tony ‘CD’ Kelly’s K-Licious record label, which features fellow emerging artistes such as Dre Zee and Malica Martin. Kelly’s upcoming production, the 1st Quarters Riddim, will feature work from Mystic also.

She accredits much of her mainstream success as a musician, in part, to Germaine ‘Mafia McKoy’ Clarke, more popularly known as Blaqk Sheep, who was thefirst producer to instill his faith in her and voice her. Clarke produced Too Much Bull as well as her first solo single, Wine Up in 2011.

With such an accomplished resume’ in her early 20s, there’s certainly a natural Mystic glowing through the air with this breakthrough talent.
