Felicia Gooden” more popularly known as Lisa Hyper is at it again, fresh from her first tour of Canada and England respectively, has put out a new release with Beenie man entitled “Nuh Stress Mi Out”. The song is featured on the ‘Rail Up’ riddim which is produced by Sankofa Productions. Beenie Man, the proclaimed King of the Dancehall is a veteran to the music business whom is known for his extensive ‘gallis’ reputure, which is often portrayed through his music and “Nuh Stress Mi Out” is no exception. Beenie Man brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the song whilst Lisa Hyper brings her new raw and outspoken talent coupled with her spunk and charisma which has created what some may call “A Dynamic Duo”.
The song with it’s up tempo riddim and jovial lyrics are expected to generate much wave within the dancehall. The song which has been posted on the popular music site You Tube a mere three days ago has already seen over 10,000 views and is generating quite a buzz. The song has already stormed the social networking sites Facebook, MySpace and Twitter receiving rave reviews from fans expressing their delight to see a vibrant synergy from both artists.
The song is a follow up to a string of Beenie Man’s most recent releases highlighting his many ‘gallis’ misfortune namely “Mi woman a call mi” and “Under Curfew”. “Nuh Stress Mi Out” is focused on Lisa Hyper getting back at Beenie Man for his infidelity to her by following suite. Beenie Man now faced with the same dilemma that the women in his previous releases faced declares on the riddim that he does not want to be stressed by the situation by reciting “ Nuh Sress Mi Out” several times in the song. Lisa Hyper in turns tries to justify her actions but when her attempts are rejected by Beenie Man she in turns asks for a second chance.
When asked how the duo came about Lisa Hyper disclosed that Beenie Man told her that he had come up with the idea for the song while in Europe. Shortly after, the two concluded dialogue and were both equally excited to voice the song. A now psyched Lisa Hyper took to the studios and the rest was history.
When asked about the experience working with Beenie Man Lisa said, “ Although he (Beenie Man) was the first entertainer to put me in a voice box and that was late 2007, it was still an overwhelming experience. Working with Beenie was energetic, fun and exciting, he is very professional, there was no goofing around. All in all the experience was a good one”.
Lisa hyper continues to make waves with her spunk and style. Her hit song “Trust” is riding the Fiwi Choice charts peaking at number 9. Lisa currently has several other releases out which are receiving heavy rotation on both local and international airwaves namely “School Dayz” featuring Unicorn, “Bills” and “Nuh Tek Style” featuring 21 Bad Gyal. The remainder of the summer will find Lisa Hyper locked in studios creating meaningful music for her yearning fans.
The Gaza General, Vybz Kartel has official made his debut as ‘Guest Star’ in what we at Dexter Communications have dubbed “Dancehall Guess What Hottest Soap Drama”.
At the close of 2009, dancehall fans were told to expect much from the Gaza Crew a.k.a the Portmore Empire and certainly they have not been disappointed, one inch!
First up on the screen was Lisa Hype, who was expelled by ‘Adijah the Teacher’ after her debut performance in“Dancehall Guess What Hottest Soap Drama” after footage surface around the internet of her giving a blow job to an unidentified male. Shortly after she was booted from the Gaza camp as allegation swirled that the unidentified man was her mentor.
In another performance Gaza Kim got a flogging by the Gaza General and his crew after been summon to a meeting.
In the third screening, Blak Ryno had to make a run for it, as he thought he was next in line for a similar fate as Gaza Kim, after receiving a call to be at a meeting. Ryno did not report for his meet and announce his departure from the Empire, following which news also surface that his house was shot up!
The Lisa Hyper and Spice feud has gained speed with emcee and deejay Nuffy caught in the centre. Dancehall Artiste Spice says to “bring it on” with a clash between herself and former Portmore Empire member Lisa Hyper, this comes after Nuffy says he will train Lisa Hyper to lyrically ‘kill’ Spice onstage. Popular talk show ‘Ragashanti Live’ got a surprise yesterday morning when Spice called in to discuss the topic of the day, ‘Ungrateful Friends’. Spice described Nuffy as an ungrateful friend, and later Nuffy called in and heated words were exchanged between the two.
According to both Spice and Nuffy, the animosity stemmed from the stage show Sting, where Spice says she was sabotaged, and because of Nuffy, she did not get to perform. Nuffy, however, says differently, as he claims he was ordered to call up General B instead. When contacted, one of Sting’s promoters Heavy D reportedly said as far as he knows, Spice was on stage and ready to perform and he is unclear as to what occurred.
Now the spat has got personal, as Spice says Nuffy is feeding Lisa Hyper personal information about her for her songs. After Sting, Lisa Hyper released a track titled Sting Aftermath in which she insulted Spice among other deejays. Spice followed up with a single called Lisa Swiper, to which Lisa later answered with two singles, The Truth and Death Sentance. According to Nuffy, Spice is taking the whole situation too personal and has crossed the line.
Lisa Hype is no longer a part of the Portmore Empire. The members of the Empire have unanimously agreed to end our professional relationship especially in light of certain ‘developments’ that have come to our attention regarding her overall conduct, conduct that is not consistent with the decorum expected of a member of the Portmore Empire. She is an incredible artiste and we wish for her all the best in her future endeavours, but Lisa Hype will not play a future role in the Empire as she no longer fits in with our organisational goals as we move forward in 2010.
