I-OCTANE’S LATEST STUDIO RECORDING COMES “STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART”

I-Octane has had a groundbreaking year! In January he announced and promoted his My Life Tour. The six-month tour included shows in the US, Canada, the Caribbean and Japan. The year also included features in Vibe Magazine, Billboard Magazine and over ten Award Nominations of which he nabbed approximately seven wins. Added to that, the artist released a catalogue of singles that received continuous airplay on top radio stations including Hot 97 and Sirius XM Radio. Now he is rounding out the year with a new project slated for release on December 6, 2011.

It is the eve of the release for I-Octane’s debut EP, “Straight From the Heart” and in true I-Octane style the singer/songwriter stepped outside the box and came up with something intended just for his fans. The EP is unlike anything fans and industry executives will expect from I-Octane. Laden with tracks that include, Burn Dem Bridge, Blood A Go Run, Crime A Rise, Falling, Example for the Poor and My Problems Gone, I-Octane remarks,“I feel good about the singles and I am excited for my fans to hear something different from me.”

For the EP, I-Octane worked with producers Stephen “The Genius” McGregor, Kimani “DJ Frass” Palmer, Garry G of Uniiqe Impact Productions, Dev Kutta of Livity Movements, Jordan McClure and David “Hizzle Hayle of Chimney Records. “Straight From the Heart” is the first project off the singer’s own label, Conquer the Globe. The project is already receiving a ‘thumbs up’ by the media as single “Crime A Rise” was featured in the Jon Carmanica section of the New York Times.

In a previously released statement, I-Octane shared the following sentiments about the EP, “As an artist we spend so much time on the go and our interaction with our fans is so limited for so many reasons. Therefore, I take the opportunity while singing to speak to my fans. On this EP I went in depth about the unfortunate situations when friends turn their backs on you, falling in love, the recent increase in crime worldwide, the struggles of the poor and the lack of support ghetto people receive from those inna Jacket and Tie. I also go on to tell fans no matter what your struggles, Jah is the constant source to strength and he will help shoulder your burdens.”

On Monday, December 12, 2011, DROM NYC, in association with Federation Sound and Destine Media, will host a by invitation only launch for the EP. I-Octane will perform selected tracks from the EP for media outlets and industry insiders. Thereafter, fans will be able to see I-Octane perform on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Sparks in Newark, NJ and on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Rebel in New York City.

“Straight From The Heart” will be available for purchase through Amazon and Itunes on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

Khago sets record straight about issues with I-Octane

Khago sets record straight about issues with I-Octane

Khago tells how he really feels about I-Octane

Jamaican Dancehall/Reggae artiste, Khago has publicly launched a stinging verbal attack on fellow cultural artiste, I-Octane. The “Blood A Boil” singer is suggesting that the I-Octane is using his popularity & influence to try & stunt Khago’s growth in the music industry & has told lies about the nature of their relationship.

In a press release, Khago lashed out at the “Nuh Ramp Wid Wi” singer; claiming I-Octane has been damaging his earning potential by refusing to be on the same stage shows that the “Blood A Boil” singer was appearing on & also accuses I-Octane of talking about him negatively to music producers to prevent him working with them. Khago intimated that, “I-Octane needs to stop telling people say me and him good, mi and him no good. Him need fi stop tell people say me and him friend. Mi put in nuff work wid him, from him first song, mi have ‘Caan Cool ‘at Number 3 on the chart, mi ask him fi call mi out so people can know me cause ah mi and him used to par, mi sing background vocals fi him, mi used to cook at Octane yard, and when him find out say mi talented like him, him no waan nobody know me, him just want me to be a background singer.”

Furthermore, Khago implied that I-Octane was stealing some of his trends; particularly with how he styled his dreadlocks & also dissed him subliminally in previous songs. Said Khago “Mi have three yute, so mi cyah mek my ting waste, mi work fi not even a dolla fi him and when a my time fi get my go, him stop deal wid me. Three years him no talk to me after mi sing the last background vocals for him at Beenie Sizzle just because mi ask him fi help me. Yuh can ask producer Krush bout it, and then three years after him stop tek mi phone call then, mi go find ‘Nah Sell Out’, him run back say him waan do combination and management say mi nuffi do it. When mi and him a roll, mi used to teach people how fi do sister locks, him do song say “no man caan ramp wid mi like how dem play wid dem catty, no man caan put dem hand inna mi natty” because him know mi used to teach people how fi do sister locks and mi no ansa him. Him see mi over Portmore and say him like the low profile rims pon mi car. Him invite me over him yard and the following week, somebody send me a link pon mi Facebook page say “Octane do Khago diss” and when mi click it, ah the song: “Mi no go ah mi bed fi dream bout bwoy, dem sell out fi low profile rims. So him ah diss me under psyches all this time.”

Khago believes that I-Octane has been disrespecting his family & suggested that he also lied about the nature of his relationship with fellow Reggae artist, Teflon; whose character, Khago claims I-Octane was also trying to defame. “Him waan mi tell lie say Teflon have knife ah Fully Loaded fi stab him up, and mi refuse fi do it. The ting deeper than music, it more than just music, mi no sing no song fi be no troublemaker. Dem used the one song, Blood a Boil fi tarnish mi ting but dem neva know the reason mi sing the song. Him trouble Teflon , and then run come pon TV and say me and Teflon a friend, It reach the point say me and Octane ah Cane and Abel, and him need fi stop tell people say ah him gimme mi name, ah Jimmy Hinds give me my name,” Khago said. Furthermore, he pointed out, “Him go pon Buzz on IRIE FM, and tell people say me waan him and mi de pon a Mavado and Kartel ting, wah dat yuh a try do to mi yute? How yu fi talk dem tings de? Why yu nuh talk how yu a try keep mi down? Ah fear him fear mi so? Octane is a glory taker, and the glory belongs to the Most High. Mi nah hide it no more.”

Meanwhile, Khago insisted that he enjoyed performing for the thousands of patrons on Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest 2011. He claimed that he didn’t need to “gas up no crowd fi get forward.”

Recently Khago released a new single on The Unkwown People Records produced, African Robot Riddim entitled, “Weh Dem a Seh,” that appears to take lyrical jabs at I-Octane.
