Akon plans to unveil all-Reggae album

Internationally acclaimed hip-hop superstar and singer, Akon looks to truly connect with fans of another popular genre as he plans to release an all-Reggae album in the near future.

Currently completing work on his fourth studio album, Stadium, the Senegalese-born artiste insists that he was inspired to work on an all-Reggae project after visiting Jamaica in January. During his time in the island, Akon visited Tuff Gong studios where he worked on projects with prominent Reggae megastars, Damian Marley andStephen Marley as well as Julian Marley. Additionally, he toured the Bob Marley Museum and even tweeted pictures while on the legendary premises.

In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Akon spoke of his admiration for the Marley’s, insisting that they motivated him to achieve greater heights while in the creative process of music.

The Bob Marley School for the Arts Institute, a 200-acre property situated on Flamingo Beach in Trelawny, twenty minutes east of the Montego Bay International Airport and four minutes from our Historic Georgian Town of Falmouth. Falmouth was once the most vibrant slave trading port in the western hemisphere. Today Falmouth is transforming into a cruise port, which will accommodate the New Oasis of the Seas by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

The Institute will be a Training Institution to enhance the Culture of our Island. Our Reggae Ambassadors like the Hon. Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, Ziggy Marley, King Yellowman and Toots Hibbert has taken it the four corners of the world, thousands of visitors will come onto our shores to enjoy and educate our people on new technologies for Cultural Arts dissemination.
