One of Jamaican entertainment’s most revered couples could be on the verge of a split after news emerged Friday that former winner of The Voice, Tessanne Chin and her media personality husband, Michael Cuffe Jr. have separated.
In a report published by the Jamaica STAR on Friday, the couple, who has would have celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary on Thursday, are having marital issues; with sources close to the couple claiming Cuffe Jr. has moved out of the family home and is staying with a friend as a result.
A subsequent report Friday confirmed Cuffe Jr. has resigned from his post at FAME FM, where he hosted the program, Uncensored alongside Krystal Tomlinson, with speculation that Cuffe could be heading to Canada to pursue media opportunities there.
Neither Cuffe nor Chin have spoken out regarding the reports, with Chin’s long time manager, Sharon Burke saying she knew nothing about the reports.
Cuffe was a prevalent figure during Chin’s run towards winning season five of The Voice in the fall of 2013 which saw the singer’s rise to international prominence. Even one of Chin’s efforts on the show, her rendition of Emelie Sande’s My Kind of Love, was dedicated to Cuffe. The couple has long been lauded for the love and togetherness they have shown throughout their marriage, both in public appearances and on social media.
