Three-time Grammy-winning rap superstar, Nelly will be one of the main acts slated to perform at the Shaggy and Friends charity show, slated for January 2, 2016 on the lawns of Jamaica House in Kingston.
The St.Louis-born entertainer, known for hits such as Hot In Herre, E.I., Ride Wit Me and more, is one of three featured international acts who will perform at the show, held biannually to help raise funds for the Bustamante Hospital for Children. Other overseas entertainers on the lineup include internationally acclaimed R&B group, En Vogue and R City (formerly Rock City), who are best known for their smash hit, Locked Away (feat. Adam Levine) and were also producers on Tessanne Chin’s major label debut album, Count On My Love.
Jamaican acts expected on the show include former Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, OMI, whose songs, Cheerleader and Hula Hoop have received heavy rotation across the road this year, as well as legendary dancehall star, Beenie Man and fellow top dancehall stars, Popcaan and Busy Signal.
Renowned gospel star, Kevin Downswell is also set to perform at the show.
Shaggy and Friends 2016 is sponsored by San Antonio-based media company, iHeartMedia and Italian automotive dealer, Fiat.
Since its inception in 2009, Shaggy and Friends has raised over US$1.6 million for the Bustamante Hospital.
