African Queen is a lover’s rock effort showing appreciation for black women all around and features a smooth melody and lyrical delivery along the way. The video, directed by award-winning movie director, Karret Barclay was shot at the Crambrook Estate in St. Ann and was premiered via Rasta Camp’s official website on Sept. 20. It features Third Gear and the lead lady in the video taking a stroll along the estate while enjoying nature’s wonders and chilling by the riverside.
Third Gear is expected to follow up this video with a slew of upcoming singles, including Legalize It, Leave Them To Time, Di System and Give the Youths a Try. Additionally, a collaboration with lovers rock crooner, Benji Myaz is in the works and expected to be released on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) next year.
Third Gear, whose real name is Lenard Anthony Mcfarlene is a Clarendon native and one of many promising artists on the Four Paths-based Rasta Camp label. He has worked with notable acts such as Reggae legend and Clarendon’s own, Cocoa Tea, who helped shape his career early on.
