The single, also known as Habibi (‘My Love’ in Arabic) was originally released last summer and features Australian-Lebanese singer/songwriter, Faydee, Romanian singer/producer, Costi and Swedish-Congolese R&B singer, Mohombi. It is currently number 39 on Billboard’s Pop Top 40 chart. This is Shaggy’s ninth single to reach the magazine’s chart, joining songs such as Angel, Hey Sexy Lady, It Wasn’t Me and Boombastic, among others.
The official video for I Need Your Love was shot in Spain and has over 21 million YouTube views since its release last September.
“The success of the single is not solely on me. It is definitely a team effort to reach where we are right now,” Shaggy said in a statement.
Shaggy is regarded as one of Jamaica’s highest selling musicians of all-time, earning his most notable success with his 2000 album, Hot Shot, which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide and topped the Billboard charts and U.K. charts in 2001.
