OMIInternationally-acclaimed singer, OMI has earned himself another major award nomination as he is up for the Crossover Artiste of the Year honour at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards.

The Clarendon-born singer, who took the world by storm with the remix of his hit single, Cheerleader in 2015 goes up against English singing sensation, Ed Sheeran and Canadian singer, Justin Bieber for the award.

It is also a historic nod for OMI as he is the first Jamaican to garner a nomination for a Billboard Latin Music award. Held since 1994, it is biggest and longest-running award show in Latin America.

This year’s edition will take place on April 28 in Miami, Florida.

In the meantime, OMI is also up for two awards – Best Song of the Year and So Happy Best Song that Makes You Smile – at the Radio Disney Awards. Additionally, he has been nominated for the Favorite New Artist award at this month’s Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, set for March 28.

OMI is set for an international tour later this year and is currently promoting his debut album, Me 4 U.
